The Theremin - The World's first practical Electronic Instrument - was invented in 1918 and is most remarkable since it is played without being touched!

This produces music via a technique known as "Space-Control" . . . . .

Theremin PreviewTheremin PreviewThe Radio Science Orchestra is a "Hi-Fi Sci-Fi" musical collective.
Emerging over the years from its cult, underground roots, many various RSO ensembles have appeared nationally and internationally (Glastonbury Festival, Alexandra Palace, Shanghai Festival, The Tardis) always with the Theremin (or multiple Theremins) at the heart of every performance.

Live collaborators have included Popular Science writer Ken Hollings, combining narration, music and archive film, and Gavin Pretor-Pinney (The Cloudspotter's Guide).

Shows have included London's ICA (Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the launch of Sputnik), Bath ICIA  (Welcome To Mars) The Last Tuesday Society, The British Library (2011 - Return To Mars) and Glastonbury Abbey - 2012 - Orchestra In A Field.

The RSO had the good fortune to meet and work with Bob Moog on several occasions - and even played at his 70th birthday party in London - where they created the "Second Moog Quartet"  (with apologies to Gershon "Popcorn" Kingsley).

The performance featured 3 Moog Voyagers and an original Minimoog. The good Doctor Robert presented the RSO with one of the first Etherwave Pro Theremins as a mark of gratitude! Bob Moog will always be a true  inspiration.
